CBI ARRESTS TWO ACCUSED AMONG DEALING ASSISTANT AND CLERK OF ESTATE OFFICE ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS. ONE LAKH

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reportedly arrested two accused including Dealing Assistant and a Clerk of Estate Office, Chandigarh for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. One lakh from complainant.

A case was registered by CBI on 14.10.2024 against accused Dealing Assistant of Estate Office, Chandigarh on the basis of a written complaint on allegations that there was a dispute regarding ownership of the house and the said dispute was got settled through the court in year 2013.

(SUBHEAD)It is further alleged that accused visited the complainant at his aforesaid residence and accused told the complainant that he was residing illegally in the said house. Accused also threatened the complainant and demanded a bribe of Rs.2.50 lakhs for sorting out the matter. Later, after negotiations accused agreed to accept Rs.1.00 lakh as bribe.

CBI laid a trap and caught two accused Dealing Assistant and said Clerk red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs. One lakh from the complainant.

CBI conducted searches at the residential and official premises of accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents. Investigation is continuing.
