CHANDIGARH BEATS JHARKHAND BY TEN WICKETS TO WIN ITS FOURTH RANJI FIXTURE

Chandigarh beat hosts Jharkhand by ten wickets to win its fourth Ranji trophy match fixture played at Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur on Tuesday.

In reply to Jharkhand's first innings score of 202, UT boys bundled out for 290 runs and gained a 88 runs lead. Later, Jharkhand was reduced to just 130 runs in their second innings and posed a meagre target of 43 runs. Chandigarh achieved the target without losing a wicket in just fourth overs.

(SUBHEAD)On the last day of the match, Jharkhand resumed its overnight score of 28/3 and added only 102 runs as the team collapsed for 130 runs. Sharandeep Singh scored the highest 64 runs. The trio of Nishunk Birla (3/17), Raj Angad Bawa (3/22) and Vishu (3/46) dent the hosts’ den.

Chandigarh achieved the target without losing any wicket with the help of unbeaten openers Arslan Khan (25) and Shivam Bhambri (19). Team coach Ravikant Sharma and co-coach Sandeep Arora said that the team's morale has been boosted with the 10-wicket win and the team has now the potential to win the fourth Ranji match against Delhi in Chandigarh from November 6.

According to them, the hosts will take full advantage of their home conditions and will keep their chances alive for the knock-out stage. Chandigarh has won two of its three matches so far while losing to Railways.
