Sunil Khanna has won as the new president of the club in the Chandigarh Club elections held after eight years. Anurag Agarwal defeated Karan Nanda by 19 votes for the post of vice-president.
New president Sunil Khanna won by a margin of 128 votes in a tough contest. Sunil Khanna got 1580 votes, while Naresh Chaudhary, who came second, got only 1452 votes. Let us tell you that there was a tough competition between three candidates for the post of president, including Sunil Khanna, Ramneet Singh Chahal and Naresh Chaudhary.
After eight years, voting was held on Saturday for various posts of Chandigarh Club. Counting of votes was done on Sunday.
Chandigarh Club is the oldest and largest club in the city. Big personalities of the city like industrialists, businessmen, professors, scientists, thinkers, lawyers etc are members of this prestigious club.
EXECUTIVE MEMBERS: Total number of votes polled 3266, Total number of votes rejected 26. Total number of valid votes 3290.
DECLARE ELECTED: Jasmar Singh Rikhy, Vikram Bedi, Rohit Suri, Param Veer Singh Babla, Rachit Goyal, Adesh Josul, Vikaas Bector and journalist Sanjay Pahwa.
