DURING THE INSPECTION, SUNIL KUMAR, DIRECTOR OF THE SCHOOL HAS USED FILTHY LANGUAGE AND HE ALSO PHYSICALLY HARASSED THE INSPECTION TEAM OF COMMISSION. HE GRABBED THE COLLAR OF THE COMMISSION’S OFFICIAL AND SHOUTED AT THE FEMALE MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION AND TRY TO HIT HER. THE COMMISSION HAS ALSO ISSUED LETTER TO THE CBSE, SECRETARY EDUCATION, CHANDIGARH ADMINISTRATION AS WELL AS THE SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE, CHANDIGARH FOR TAKING NECESSARY ACTION AGAINST THE SCHOOL.

The Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) has received a telephone call regarding the complaint of Stepping Stones School, Sector 37, Chandigarh for running the coaching classes of FITJEE in the school premises for the Non-Medical students of classes 11th & 12th during the school hours.
The Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) took Suo-moto cognizance and conducted an inspection of Stepping Stones School, Chandigarh on Tuesday . During the inspection, it was confirmed that coaching classes were being conducted without appropriate authorization.
The Commission observed several violations of the Affiliation Bye-Laws, 2018 of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). These violations raise serious concerns regarding the proper functioning and adherence to CBSE guidelines by the institution.
The school has violated the conditions of Affiliation Bye-Laws, 2018 of CBSE i.e. 9.1.3 of Chapter 9: Roles, Responsibilities, Duties and Powers of Important Functionaries and 14.10. of Chapter-14- General Rules.
During inspection, it has also come to the notice of the Commission that some students who are not officially enrolled with Stepping Stones School, Sector 37, Chandigarh are studying in class taken by Faculty members of FIITJEE in the school premises. This practice is highly irregular and appears to be in contravention of CBSE guidelines.
The conduct of the school authorities amounted to a clear obstruction of the official duties of the Commission which is mandate of the Commission as per the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005, as they disrupted the inspection process and created an environment of intimidation for the officials. On the spot, the Commission reported the incident at Helpline 112 and also reported telephonically to Inspector Chiranji Lal, SHO, Police Station- 39, Chandigarh. PCR from Helpline 112 & Police official from PS-39, Chandigarh reached the school.
During the inspection, Sunil Kumar, Director of the school has used filthy language and he also physically harassed the inspection team of Commission. He grabbed the collar of the Commission’s official and shouted at the female member of the Commission and try to hit her.

Criminal case can be registered against School authorities including the Director Sushil Kumar. Moreover the Recognition of School can be withdrawn by the CBSE.
