Department of Radio Medical Imaging Technology , Dolphin PG College, Mohali commemorated “World Radiography Day” under the Chairmanship of Dr. Vinod Mittal of DPGC. with Academic session on Theme; “Patient Radiation Safety & Ethics in Radiology Practice”.
The Vice-Chairman Engineer Vibhav Mittal was the Guest of Honour, besides Dr. Malkit Singh, Dean Academic, Dr. Monu Principal, Organizing Chairperson Aadil Rasheed, HOD (Radio Medical Imaging Technology), Organizing Secretary, Balwinder k. Thapa & Nafeeda Rehman.
Aditya Nagrath and Ravindra Kumar, Medical Technologist were the Guest Speakers from PGIMER, Chandigarh. Balwinder Kumar Thapa, Associate Professor Radiology, Dolphin PG College welcomed the dignitaries, delegates and students who attended the event “World Radiography Day” celebration.
(SUBHEAD)World Radiography Day, is observed every year on November 8th, marks the anniversary of the discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1895. The event aimed to raise awareness of the vital role played by radiographers in evidence based modern medicine and to celebrate the ongoing advancements in radiographic imaging technology in diagnosing and treating patients.
The event was successfully resounding with an Inaugural session, Scientific session, Poster presentation competition, Cultural program and Valedictory session was attracted by delegates, faculty and students of Dolphin PG College.
The Esteemed expert speakers from the field of Radiology and Imaging Technology shared their knowledge and insights with the students and teachers of Dolphin PG College. The scientific session was an intellectual feast where the presenters gave their state-of-art presentations in the field of Radiology.
Thirty-five students participated in poster presentation competition, covering a wide range of topics such as CT scan, MRI, Safety of X-ray radiation and the protection by various devices used in X-Ray radiation and many more. The winners of the competitions, selected by a panel of guest speakers as a judge.
The cultural program by students also graced the occasion. In the valedictory session winners were awarded with prizes and all participants received certificates of participation and the work of resource persons was also appreciated and recognized by certification. The audience expressed their gratitude for the insights gained throughout the day.
