PROF. YOJNA RAWAT ASSUMED ROLE OF DIRECTOR OF THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CELL AT PU

Prof. Yojna Rawat today assumed the role of Director of the Research and Development Cell at Panjab University, succeeding Prof. Savita Bhatnagar from the Department of Mathematics. 

A professor of Hindi at the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Prof. Rawat previously served as Chairperson of the department from 2016 to 2019, where she implemented significant reforms to improve its operations. An accomplished academic, she has authored several books and research papers and is also recognised as a poet, short story writer, and translator. 

Prof. Rawat has contributed to the university’s governance as a member of the Senate and Syndicate. For the past two years, she has been the Coordinator of the Srimanta Shankardev Chair, during which she organised numerous academic and cultural activities. 

Recently, the Governor of Uttarakhand, Shri Gurmit Singh, nominated her to the Executive Council of Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani. Her term is for two years from the date of appointment.
