TWO-DAY NATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR YOUNG SUPDTT. OF POLICE FROM STATES/UT’S AND COMMANDANTS OF CAPFS BEGINS

Chandigarh Police in collaboration with BPR&D organised the two-day 5th National Conference for Young Superintendent’s of Police from States/UT’s and Commandants of CAPFs at Chandigarh Judicial Academy sector 43, Chandigarh.

Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh Sh Gulab Chand Kataria inaugurated the conference as the Chief Guest. Sh. Rajeev Verma, Advisor UT, Sh. Surendra Singh Yadav,DGP/UT, Sh. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, DGP/BPR&D, Sh. Ravi Joseph Lokku, IPS, ADGP/BPR&D were also present during the event.

The chief guest took a round of the Police Expo stalls, showcasing smart technology driven devices. During his address, the Administrator UT Chandigarh said this conference is a strong symbol of dedication and commitment of our allied agencies in maintaining peace, security and justice in our society.

(SUBHEAD)Motivating the young officers, Sh. Kataria said that their role should not be limited to crime but also to increase awareness and liveliness towards the community. Establishing a dialogue with the community and understanding their problems has become an important aspect of today's policing.

As a police officer, your every decision should not be limited to just the crime of the community but it should also be a reflection of our human rights. Fairness, integrity, and human rights should be the basis of your service.

The Administrator also laid stress upon physical and mental health of police officials and advised them to follow a healthy lifestyle practices. The Chief guest gave three mantras to the young SPs- honesty, empathy and being just. Sh. Kataria said that it is very essential to think empathetically about the problems of your team and in this way work efficiency can also be increased. He also spoke about the huge significance of new criminal laws that have been recently implemented in whole country starting from Chandigarh.

The theme of this year's conference is “Leveraging Technology and Collaboration for Modern Policing,” which aptly captures the transformative journey we are embarking on as law enforcement agencies (LEAs) across the country.

74 Delegates i.e. IGP’s, SSP’s, SP’s, Commandants, CAPFs from various States and UT’s are attending the conference. 04 topics pertaining to “The New Criminal Laws and Policing in the Digital Era”, “New Age Technologies for Predictive and Smart Policing Solutions”, “Cross-Border Terrorism Trends and Counter Strategies” and “Emerging Challenges in Cyber Security and Cyber Crime” were discussed and deliberated during the conference.
