NATIONAL LOK ADALAT DISPOSED CASES BY THE DIFFERENT 15 BENCHES

Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority and able guidance of the Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Lisa Gill, Executive Chairperson, State Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh, the National Lok Adalat was organized on Saturday in District Court Complex, Sector-43, Chandigarh by State Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh and District Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh.

(MOREPIC1)  Fifteen benches headed by the serving Judicial Officers were constituted in the District Courts, Sector-43, Chandigarh. Criminal Compoundable cases, cases under Section 138 of N.I.Act, Bank Recovery cases, MACT Cases, Matrimonial Disputes, Labour Disputes, Arbitration matters, other Civil Cases, Municipal Matters and Traffic Challans were taken up and disposed off with the consent of the parties.

(SUBHEAD)In National Lok Adalat total 2792 were disposed of by the benches of serving Judicial Officers constituted in New District Courts Complex, Sector 43, Chandigarh which include 4 Criminal Compoundable cases, 2229 cases under Section 138 of N.I. Act involving an amount of Rs1,64,81,732/-, 70 Motor Accident Claim cases involving an amount of Rs.9,85,75,000/-, 38 Matrimonial/Family Disputes, 120 Civil Suits and Rent Cases involving an amount of Rs.32,65,500/-, 76 Executions involving an amount of Rs.4,12,68,425/-, 08 Criminal Revision involving an amount of Rs.1,07,000/-, 29 Crl. Misc., 30 Civil Misc. involving amount of Rs.2,46,04,195/-, 22 Arbitration cases, 05 Civil/Rent Appeal, 19 cases of 125 Cr.P.C., 19 cases of D.V. Act, 62 Untrace cases, 33 Criminal Appeals involving amount of Rs.27,32,000/-, 18 cases of ROC/Shop Act and 10 Guardian & Ward Act Cases were disposed of. 1630 Traffic Challans were also disposed of by imposing a fine of Rs.16,23,500/-.

In addition to above, 667 pre-litigative cases involving an amount of Rs.80,85,350/- were disposed of by the Permanent Lok Adalat (PUS), 04 Labour Dispute Cases involving an amount of Rs.11,94,067/- were disposed of by the Labour Court, 64 Cases were disposed of by State & District Consumer Commissions, Chandigarh and 189 cases were disposed of by DRT-III, Chandigarh.

One maintenance case pending between the parties was also disposed of in National Lok Adalat. The parties in this case were residing separately for the last one year and serving in Government Departments. With the intervention of the Presiding Officer, Member and counsel for the parties, parties decided to live together happily with an understanding to give second chance to their marriage.
