(MOREPIC1)Suraj Rohilla/Bhubneswar:

Government needs to take positive steps to make media fearless. Media is the only strong link between the government and the public. Media is the only one that brings the government's schemes and the problems of the society to the government.

It tells whether the benefits of government schemes are reaching the common man or not, it exposes corruption and brings it before the government, but due to this, media personnel are falsely and systematically implicated in fake cases. In such a situation, it is necessary that journalist protection law should be implemented in every state.

(SUBHEAD)For this, the government should now take positive initiatives. This view was expressed by Dr. Anurag Saxena, National President of Journalist Council of India Regd. during a seminar of journalists.

Now the government should start positive initiatives to solve the problems of media personnel. For a long time, various organizations of journalists have been demanding the government to implement the Journalist Protection Act.

At present, small and medium newspapers used to get concessions from the postal department, which benefited the publishers of newspapers and magazines in circulation, which the government also stopped.

In such a situation, the government should now declare recognition to e-paper and web portal. Every day misleading news keeps getting published about wave media. The government should put a stop to this by declaring wave media as legitimate media.
