PU CELEBRATES LEGACY OF MATA SAVITRIBAI PHULE, PIONEER OF WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT

Panjab University’s Mata Savitribai Phule Hall (Girls Hostel No. 5) organised a celebration to honour the life and legacy of Mata Savitribai Phule, a pioneer of women's education and social reforms, on her 194th birth anniversary. 

The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation of residents and staff of the hostel, in admiration for one of greatest social reformers of India. 

Dr Jaspreet Kaur, Warden of the hostel, highlighted the invaluable contributions of Savitribai Phule in empowering women and marginalised communities through education and pai bhid a befitting tribute to her role in the field of education to women to uphold gender equality and social reforms, which continue to inspire generations.
