UT colts are out of the Vijay Merchant trophy as Chandigarh faced an embarrassing 246 runs defeat against Madhya Pradesh at the the pre-quarter final played at Ahmedabad, In reply to Madhya Pradesh's 313, Chandigarh was all out at 124 runs, giving the opposition team a strong lead of 189 runs.

Later, Madhya Pradesh scored 276/9 in the second innings and gave a mammoth target of 466. In reply Chandigarh was collapsed at 219 runs wherein Rithvik Sood (70) was the top scorer.
