DEPUTY COMMISSIONER CHANDIGARH VISITS MC OFFICE AHEAD OF UPCOMING MAYOR ELECTION

The Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav visited the Municipal Corporation (MC) office, Sector-17, Chandigarh today to review the arrangements and ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming Mayor election. The Mayor election is scheduled to be held on 24th January 2025 (Friday) at 11 am in the Assembly Hall of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation under the Presiding Officer Sh. Ramneek Singh Bedi.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner held discussions with senior officials of the Municipal Corporation, emphasizing the importance of a fair, transparent, and efficient election process. The Commissioner also reviewed the preparations for the election, including security arrangements, logistics, and compliance with the prescribed guidelines.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration’s commitment to upholding democratic values and ensuring that the election is conducted in a peaceful manner. Special instructions were given to the staff to coordinate effectively and address any potential challenges that may arise during the process.

The visit reflects the administration’s proactive approach to facilitating the democratic process and underscores its readiness to support the Municipal Corporation in conducting the election seamlessly.

Present during the visit were Sh. Gurinder Singh Sodhi, Joint Commissioner-I, Ms. Isha Kamboj, Joint Commissioner-II, Ms. Shashi Vasundhara, Joint Commissioner-III along with other officials of MC Chandigarh.
