KATARIA, ADMINISTERS THE OATH OF OFFICE TO DR. MAHAVIR SINGH AS CHIEF COMMISSIONER, CHANDIGARH RIGHT TO SERVICE COMMISSION

Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Administrator of UT Chandigarh, administered the oath of office to Dr. Mahavir Singh, IAS (Retd.) as Chief Commissioner, Chandigarh Right to Service Commission, at Punjab Raj Bhawan.

(MOREPIC1)Dr. Mahavir Singh, 1989-batch Haryana-cadre IAS officer, retired on February 28, 2023, upon attaining the age of superannuation. He has an experience of more than three decades in Public Affairs, Administration & Management of Infrastructure while serving in different capacities as IAS Officer in State Government of Haryana & Government of India. He was on Inter-state deputation to Chandigarh Administration in 1999 and posted as Chief Executive Officer, Chandigarh Housing Board. His last posting was as Additional Chief Secretary for School Education, Sports, and Youth Affairs, Government of Haryana.

Having MBA, PhD and D. Litt. Degrees, Dr. Mahavir Singh has served for more than 12 years in the field of Urban Development and Housing in various capacities in Government of India and State Government of Haryana. Notably, Dr. Mahavir Singh has also served as IRS Officer in the Department of Revenue (CBDT); Special Secretary, Finance in Government of Haryana; Principal/Additional Chief Secretary in School Education as well as Higher Education and Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs. He has also served as Deputy Commissioner, Kaithal and Divisional Commissioner, Ambala.

Present during the occasion were Sh. Rajeev Verma, IAS, Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh, Sh. Vivek Joshi, IAS, Chief Secretary Haryana, along with serving and retired officials of Government of Haryana and UT Chandigarh Administration. The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Mahavir Singh’s family members.
