Sharul Channa, one of Asia’s Top 10 comedians, is all set to return to her roots with an exclusive performance in Chandigarh on February 21, 2025, at The Laugh Club. The Singapore-based Indian Origin comedian, known for her fearless takes on cultural norms and societal quirks, promises a night of laughter, reflection, and entertainment as she performs on home ground.

Sharul, who has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious comedy festivals, uses stand-up as a medium to challenge conventions while leaving audiences in splits. Her multicultural upbringing across India and Singapore lends her comedy a unique voice that resonates with diverse audiences. With her sharp observations and theatrical storytelling, she dissects cultural nuances with a refreshing candour that’s both thought-provoking and hilarious.

(SUBHEAD)Sharul’s return to Chandigarh goes beyond the stage—it’s a personal journey of revisiting childhood haunts, reconnecting with the local culture, and reliving the stories she grew up with. This performance marks a heartfelt homecoming to the city where her family roots run deep. “Performing in Chandigarh feels like a homecoming of sorts! I have cherished childhood memories of this city, and this show is my way of reconnecting with those roots,” says Sharul Channa.

This visit is also a tribute to her grandparents, Dewan Baldev Raj Sahni and Shiv Kumari Sahni, whose legacy of community service, art, and cultural promotion left an indelible mark on her. Her grandfather cultivated and distributed agricultural produce across Northern India, while her grandmother taught knitting and sewing to empower women at a government school.

“Their commitment to their community and their love for this city have shaped my values,” adds Sharul. “Through this performance, I want to honour their spirit and celebrate the warmth, humour, and resilience that make Chandigarh special for me.”

Audiences can expect an electrifying performance filled with relatable anecdotes, sharp commentary on societal dynamics, and Sharul’s signature unapologetic humour. From everyday observations to larger cultural themes, the evening promises to be a laughter riot.
