Young and aspiring journalists will be honored at the 22nd Simmi Marwaha Young Journalist Honour on April 3, 2025 (Thursday), at Press Club, Sector 27-B, Chandigarh.

This prestigious award, instituted by the Simmi Marwaha Memorial Charitable Trust, recognizes outstanding contributions in the field of journalism.

The trust has invited applications from young journalists who have made remarkable contributions through their work, using the power of their pen to impact society, administration, and governance. Interested candidates can submit their entries by March 25, 2025, via email at smctindia5@gmail.com.

Trust Managing Trustee, Rajinder Rosy (Poetess), stated that this honor was initiated in 2004 with the support of Simmi Marwaha’s well-wishers.

(SUBHEAD)Each year, journalists from print, electronic, web, and photography media who have upheld the values of ethical journalism are recognized. Additionally, the Mass Communication department topper from Punjab University, Chandigarh, is also felicitated. Awardees receive a pure silver memento as a mark of honor.

Simmi Marwaha, a promising journalist, tragically lost her life in a road accident in Chandigarh 22 years ago at the age of 24. Since then, her well-wishers have commemorated her birthday, April 3, by organizing this annual honor. To date, the trust has honored 64 journalists from across the country. For more information, contact: 98722-03478
