A car crushed a police personnel and a person at a checkpost set up for Holi on Friday morning at Zirakpur border in Chandigarh. All three died on the spot in the accident. The car was moving at such a high speed that all three people got stuck in the barbed wire installed for security..
The deceased include constable Sukhdarshan, home guard volunteer Rajesh and a person, who was standing with police and giving papers on Naka.
The third deceased person identified as HR Manager of a company of Delhi.
On receiving the information, Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur herself reached the spot and took stock of the incident. The police have arrested the accused driver on the basis of CCTV footage. A case has been registered against him at Sector 31 police station.
