As per Rule 100 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989, in case of three wheelers and vehicles with hood and side covers, the windows may be of acrylic or plastic transparent sheet. For the safety of passengers, all the Auto Rickshaw/e-Rickshaw Operators were directed to affix acrylic or plastic transparent sheet by 28th February 2025.
The time period for affixing acrylic or plastic transparent sheets in Auto Rickshaws and e-rickshaws has been extended till 30th June 2025.
The acrylic or plastic transparent should be affixed in Auto Rickshaws and e-rickshaws by 30th June 2025, failing which the Auto Rickshaws and e-rickshaws will be challaned/ impounded as per rules.
