UT CHANDIGARH ADMINISTRATION DECLARED PUBLIC HOLIDAY ON APRIL 14, ALL GOVT. OFFICES AND INSTITUTIONS TO REMAIN CLOSED

In partial modification of its earlier notification No. 6/1/1-IH(I)-2024/18285-92 dated 27th December 2024, the Chandigarh Administration has announced that 14th April 2025 (Monday) will be observed as a Public Holiday in all Government Offices, Boards, Corporations, Institutions, and Industrial Establishments under the Chandigarh Administration and within the meaning of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881, on account of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti.

Further ,It is clarified that Good Friday (18th April 2025) and Buddha Purnima (12th May 2025) will remain Public Holidays as per the earlier Notification in all Government Offices, Boards, Corporations, Institutions, and Industrial Establishments under the Chandigarh Administration.

However, Good Friday (18th April 2025) and Buddha Purnima (12th May 2025) will not remain public holidays within the meaning of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 like in Haryana State & Punjab State.
