Under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), a "Zero Tolerance" policy against drugs is being strictly enforced in North District. The teams of Anti-Narcotics Cell and AATS/North District, Delhi are committed to eliminating drugs and have consistently emphasized taking strict action against all drug traffickers.
To achieve this goal, a dedicated police team of AATS, North District, led by SI Savinder Kumar, comprising ASI Sanjeev, HC Sanjay, HC Omprakash Dagar, HC Sumit, HC Monbir, HC Ankit, and Ct Rahul has been formed to combat drug peddling, under the close supervision of Inspr. Ishwar Singh (In-charge AATS) and guidance of Shri Ashok Kumar, ACP/Operations Cell/North District, Delhi. Moreover, the team of AATS of North District has been working relentlessly to curb drug supply and to develop information about drug peddlers active in North District, Delhi.
Mr. Raja Banthia, IPS. DCP, North District, said, on sustained interrogation, the accused Aman Verma, age 27 years (the driver of car), disclosed that his financial condition is not good. He came to Delhi from his native town about six months ago and began to work in a Private Company in the area of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Further, he disclosed that one of his known person namely Rafiq, lured him in the business of drug trafficking. Consequently, to live a lavish life and earn quick money, he started supplying the contraband Ganja in retails in various parts of Delhi.
Police said, on 04.04.2025, the team member ASI Sanjeev received a secret information through his reliable sources about drug trafficking activities in the area of Civil Lines, Delhi. As per the directions of senior officers and acting upon the secret information, a raid was conducted near Vasudev Ghat, Civil Lines, Delhi and two persons, identified as Mohd. Rafiq, r/o Sector-12, Pratap Vihar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, age 34 years and Aman Verma, r/o Mohalla Fatehkhani Kasba Bilashpur Banthor, District Gautambudh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, age 27 years were apprehended during late evening hours.
After following legal procedure as per law, their search has been conducted and fine quality of Ganja weighing approximately 10.130 Kilograms recovered from their possession which was being transported by them in a Car, make Volkswagen Polo bearing reg. No. DL14C083-IV.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 164/25 dated 05.04.2025 u/s 20/25/29 NDPS Act was registered at PS Civil Lines, Delhi and the investigation has been taken up.

Subsequently, raid was also conducted at his apartment situated at Dev Height Tower Dasna, Ghaziabad and 59.600 Kilograms Ganja has also been recovered from his flat. The accused Aman, a converted Muslim further revealed that he usually takes contraband Ganja through courier from Bangladesh, Vishakhapattnam and Orrisa and other part of India. He has some contact in Bangladesh because he is converted Muslim from Hindu so he became more valuable asset to them within a stipulated period to the drug cartel and he started trafficking the contraband Ganja in huge quantity via Vishakhapattnam and Orrisa in India.
The investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to ascertain the role of other associates indulged in this racket.
