The 3-day Management Development Program on Universal Human Values (UHV) held at NITTTR Chandigarh concluded  on Saturday. , Principal Secretary to Governor of Punjab, Shri Vivek Pratap Singh graced the valediction function as Chief Guest, while Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur, Prof. Shashi Kumar Dhiman was the Guest of Honour. More than 150 participants, especially Vice-Chancellors of Universities and Directors / Principals of AICTE and UGC approved Institutions from 10 states of North-Western India attended the Program.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest and Principal Secretary to Governor of Punjab, Shri Vivek Pratap Singh expressed concern that India has lost its value system over time, much faster than the western world. “There is a dire need to connect today’s youth to our value system since decisions made today will shape the future.” He emphasized the vital role that teachers can play in a student’s life.

(MOREPIC1)Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur, Prof. Shashi Kumar Dhiman shared that Universal Human Values can bring a big change in the professional as well as personal life. It can lead to better education which can raise not only skilled but also value-imbibing professionals, he asserted.

Director, NITTTR Chandigarh, Prof. Bhola Ram Gurjar urged the participants to inculcate Universal Human Values in every aspect of their behaviour.

The program was organized in collaboration with Panjab University, Chandigarh; IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar and Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur with the support of National Coordination Committee for Induction Program, AICTE.

Having attended the Program, participants enthusiastically shared their commitment to integrate Universal Human Values and Holistic Value Based Education into the undergraduate curricula of their institutions.
