01 LAPTOP WITH BETTING SOFTWARE, 09 MOBILE PHONES, 03 NOTEBOOKS AND BETTING RECORDS SEIZED. BETTING WORTH ₹17 LAKH PLACED DURING THE CURRENT IPL SEASON.

The AATS team of South District has achieved a significant breakthrough by busting an online cricket betting racket operating from Khirki Village, Malviya Nagar in case FIR No. 202/2025 dated 13.04.2025, registered under Sections 3/4 of the Delhi Public Gambling Act at PS Malviya Nagar, four accused persons—Vishal Chauhan, Nitin Kumar, Sumit Kumar, and Mahboob—have been apprehended. One laptop with betting assistance software, nine mobile phones used for placing bets, three notebooks containing detailed betting records, and multiple betting-related messages from various messaging applications were received.
In the intervening night of 12/13.04.2025, a credible information was received by HC Kamal Prakash regarding operating of an IPL-based gambling racket at a House in Khirki Village, New Delhi. Accordingly, a team comprising SI Deepak Mahla, SI Dinesh, HC Kamal Prakash, HC Joginder, HC Brijesh, HC Virender, HC Narender, Ct. Devenderm Ct. Kanaram & Ct. Arvind led by Inspr. Umesh Yadav, IC/AATS South District overall supervision of Sh. Abhinendra Jain, ACP/OPS/SD was formed to bust the Gambling racket. Accordingly, the information was further developed and local enquiry of the area was conducted.

On pointing out of the informer, a raid was conducted where 04 persons were found actively involved in betting activities through online. On checking, 01 Laptop with Betting Assistance Software, 09 Mobile Phones used for placing bets, 03 Notebooks containing betting records & multiple betting-related messages retrieved from messaging applications were recovered, said, Mr. Ankit Chauhan, IPS, DCP , South Distt.
Later on, they were identified as Vishal Chauhan, Nitin Kumar, Sumit Kumar & Mahboob. In this regard, a case FIR No. 202/2025 date 13.04.2025, U/s 3/4 of the Delhi Public Gambling Act was registered at Police Station Malviya Nagar and investigation was taken up. They were apprehended.
