CHANDIGARH CBI COURT SENTENCED 5 YEARS IMPRISONMENT AND ONE LAC FINE TO FORMER INSPECTOR RAVINDER SINGLA TAKING COMPANY CAR AS BRIBE

The special court of Chandigarh CBI sentenced five years imprisonment and fine of Rs. one Lack to former Inspector Ravinder Singla, arrested for taking the company's car as bribe in a 9-year-old case

The learned court acquitted the second accused Paramjit Singh Happy in this case, the third accused Pramod Kumar Gautam was died during trial. 

The verdict on the punishment of CBI Inspector Ravinder Singla was pronounced on Saturday. After being convicted by the court, CBI took Singla into custody.

The investigating agency had arrested former CBI Inspector Ravinder Singla by registering a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act. CBI had registered a case against three people including the inspector. Apart from the convicted Singla, Paramjit Singh Happy was also made an accused in the case, whom the court acquitted due to lack of evidence.
