PANCHKULA ANTI FRAUD UNIT BUSTED IMMIGRATION FRAUD , ACCUSED ARRESTED FROM MOHALI, RECOVERED 4 LAKH

Anti immigration fraud Police Station reported to have busted immigration fraud and arrested the accused from Mohali. In this regard  Deepak Saini, a resident of Panchkula, has made a serious allegation of fraud and death threats against Mohali resident Gurpreet Singh and his family in the name of getting Canada work permit.

Complainant Deepak Saini is an advocate by profession.

He told that the accused Gurpreet Singh, his wife, brother and brother-in-law together cheated him of about Rs 4 lakh in the name of sending his brother Sarvjeet Singh to abroad.

Deepak Saini told that on 6 November 2019, an agreement was prepared with Gurpreet in Panchkula Court, in which it was decided that his brother would be sent to Canada on work permit within 90 to 120 days. In which Gurpreet took Rs 4 lakh before the work was done, and the rest of the amount was to be given after sending him abroad.

When questioned about the visa process, Gurpreet kept postponing the dates again and again and finally stopped responding citing the corona pandemic. According to the complainant, no file number or receipt was given even after repeated requests. Finally, when the money was demanded back, Gurpreet threatened that “do whatever you want to do, I have connections at the top and I will get you killed in your own house.”

Anti Immigration Fraud Unit Incharge Sub Inspector Tajinder Pal Singh , said with the help of the team has succeeded in arresting the accused Gurpreet from Raipur Kalan Mohali on May 3. The accused was produced in the court on May 4 and taken on 2-day police remand. During the remand, the police have recovered all the money Rs 4 lakh cheated by the accused. A case was registered against the accused in Pinjore police station under Section 406, 420 of IPC and Section 24 of Immigration Act.
