A DOZEN INDIVIDUALS BOOKED FOR LIFE-THREATENING ATTACK OVER LAND DISPUTE

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

The Khuian Sarwar police have registered a case against two named individuals and 10-11 unidentified persons following a life-threatening attack—involving gunfire—on a youth in village Gidderanwali due to a land dispute. Raids are currently underway to apprehend the accused, SP Ashwant Singh said.

The injured victim, Jashanpreet Singh, recounted in his statement that he was watering the paddy crop in his field with his father. During this time, Inderjit Singh (a fellow villager) and Gursewak Singh (a resident of Kotha village, Hindumalkot), accompanied by 10-11 associates, entered their land with a tractor fitted with a disc harrow and allegedly attempted to take possession of the property.

According to Jashanpreet, when he resisted, Inderjit Singh fired three consecutive shots from a pistol. One of the bullets grazed his groin area and struck his private part, causing serious injury. His family immediately rushed him to the hospital, where, following initial treatment, he was referred to Faridkot.

Based on Jashanpreet’s statement, the police have registered a case against Inderjit Singh, Gursewak Singh, and 10-11 unidentified individuals under Sections 109, 329(3), 62, 351(2), 191(3), and 190 of the BNS.

The SP said that strict action would be taken against those who undermine law and order.
