ACCIDENT ON ABOHAR-MALOUT ROAD EXPOSES TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

Even when passengers and drivers survived with mild injuries in a major accident today on the Abohar-Malout road, it has once again exposed unchecked traffic violations.

There was a massive collision between a private bus and an auto. The bus suffered a lot of damage in this accident. Some passengers including the auto driver were also injured. It is said that the auto was being used to transport a large sized ladder in blunt violation of traffic rules due to which this accident occurred.

According to the information, an auto driver was carrying a very long ladder on the roof near the petrol pump on Malout Road. When he started taking a turn, the glasses of the bus, with about 50 passengers, coming from Malout were shattered when it collided with the ladder. The passengers suffered minor injuries, the auto driver was also injured.

The bus driver said that a tractor was coming from one side and in order to save a collision, he moved the bus a little to the side and in the meantime, the auto driver coming with a long ladder turned the auto and the ladder hit the glass of the bus resulting in the accident. People said that traffic rules that prohibit things like transportation need to be implemented strictly.
