ARRESTS INDICATE UNABATED HEROIN TRADING FROM ABOHAR TO SRIGANGANAGAR

Sriganganagar Sadar police have arrested a girl for ordering heroin from Abohar and selling it locally. 15.26 grams of heroin has been recovered from her possession. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act against Jaswinder Kaur alias Bittu (30), resident of Matili Rathan. The police got the input about Jaswinder Kaur’s involvement in drug smuggling during the interrogation of two youths, Gurpreet Singh (24) and Peerditta Singh (24), residents of Shehteerwala village of Fazilka, after they were caught with 64.59 grams of heroin. These youths reportedly revealed that they were given heroin by a person named Boxer, a resident of Abohar, which they had come to Sriganganagar to give to Jaswinder Kaur.

Jaswinder Kaur reportedly told the police that in 2020 she was married to Rajesh Soni, a resident of Tohana. After some time, they separated. Then she started living in a live-in relationship with Mandeep Singh in Jawaharnagar. Mandeep was reportedly caught with heroin about three and a half months back and has been in jail since then. After that, Jaswinder Kaur allegedly started selling drugs to addicts to meet her household expenses.

Jawaharnagar police station have arrested 21-year-old Anjali of Chhajgiriya Mohalla with 10 grams of heroin. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act. Many girls from this locality have been caught with heroin in the past, some had confessed having arranged drugs from Fazilka district.

Meanwhile, Sahib Singh (19) of Rajanwali under the Wahabwala police station in Abohar area has been held on charges of supplying heroin. Sub Inspector Aman Ghanas, in-charge of RIICO police post, had arrested a youth from Punjab with heroin two days ago. On being interrogated, he claimed that Sahib Singh had sent heroin through him to deliver the same to his uncle in village Ladhuwala.
