Assam Rifles conducted an Ex-Servicemen Rally at BM Birla Auditorium, Jaipur under the aegis of HQ DGAR, reaffirming the force’s enduring commitment towards the welfare and wellbeing of its veterans, Veer Naris and their families.
The event was presided over by Maj Gen Jai Singh Bainsla, SM, Additional Director General, Assam Rifles. More than 700 Ex-servicemen from Haryana and Rajasthan attended the rally, reflecting the strong bond shared by the force with its veteran fraternity.
During the rally, Eight Veer Naris and six gallantry awardees were felicitated in recognition of their sacrifice, courage and distinguished service to the nation. The Chief Guest interacted with the veterans and acknowledged their invaluable contribution towards the security and legacy of the force.
A number of welfare-related activities and awareness initiatives were organised during the event for the benefit of Ex-Servicemen and their dependents. The rally formed part of the ongoing Assam Rifles Outreach Programme. Assam Rifles teams have so far visited 44 locations across 17 states and interacted with a total of 8,992 veterans, Veer Naris and dependents. In addition, 66 bedridden veterans and NOKs have been personally visited and assisted as part of the outreach efforts.
