Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Association of Engineers, Abohar, inaugurated the “Johri Mandir Vatika” which is being developed within the premises of the city’s historic Johari Mandir.

Association President Karan Arora shared details about various environmental projects undertaken by the association in previous years and their positive impacts. He said that this garden, being developed over an area of approximately 2,500 square feet, would prove to be a significant step towards increasing greenery in the central part of the city. Various types of saplings will be planted in the garden, with ‘Triveni’ trees in the center. Additionally, proper fencing is being installed around the perimeter to ensure its protection.

Project Head Sumit Thatai urged all citizens to minimize waste generation and adopt the practices of reusing and recycling items for the sake of environmental conservation. He remarked that World Environment Day should be celebrated with the same enthusiasm as festivals like Diwali and Holi, as a clean and safe environment is vital for our future.

A highlight of the event was the participation of children. Through handmade drawings focused on environmental conservation, the children conveyed messages of “Save Planet” and “Green Future.” Bhupinder Kumar, Davinder Kumar, Rohit Goyal, Aman Kumar, Sanjeev Sehgal, Anup Arora, A.K. Vij, Sudhir Arora, Gurditta Singh, Ramneek Midha, Ramesh Kamboj, Shobhit Gandhi, Ashok Jangid, Sahil Gagneja, Vineet Dhawan, Vineet Jhamb and Pradeep Taneja were among those present.
