BALBIR SIDHU EXPOSES POLL MALPRACTICE IN MOHALI MC ELECTIONS

DEMANDS ACTION AGAINST POLICE OFFICER FOR ILLEGAL LIQUOR DISTRIBUTION

 Senior Congress Leader and former Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said here today that a formal complaint has been filed by the Congress General Secretary Captain Sandeep Sandhu with the State Election Commissioner against Police Officer Balwinder Singh Jhansal for severe violations of the Model Code of Conduct during the ongoing Municipal Corporation elections in Mohali.

Mr. Sidhu told that through the complaint it had been brought into the kind notice of The Election Commissioner that Police officer Balwinder Singh Jhansal is actively abusing his official position to influence voters in favour of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates and aligned Independent Candidate Paramjit Singh Kahlon from Ward No. 10, SAS Nagar. Sidhu revealed that the officer has been using vehicles with registration numbers PB 65 BJ 9908, PB 12 M 2031, and T0426CH 8403A to illegally distribute liquor across the constituency.

The Congress leader further told that video evidence captures the officer’s vehicle, complete with police stickers, being used to transport and supply liquor for electoral gains was also provided to the Election Commissioner.

Mr. Sidhu termed this a blatant misuse of police machinery and government influence that destroys the foundation of free and fair elections. He has demanded an immediate independent inquiry, the seizure of the vehicles and video evidence, and strict departmental and criminal action against all individuals involved to preserve electoral transparency.
