Two individuals riding a Splendor bike attacked a woman and her daughter with a sword and snatched a gold chain, weighing 2-tola, last evening in Street-1 of Jain Nagar here.
City-1 Police team reached the spot and recovered footage from a nearby CCTV camera. In which this entire incident has been captured. The police were searching for the suspects on the same basis.
Isha was going back to her home on a scooter from the market with her mother Sumedha Sharma. When they reached Street-1 in Jain Nagar, two individuals who came from behind riding a Hero Splendor bike hit the scooter. Due to which the scooter went out of control and the mother sitting behind fell on the ground. As soon as Isha took care of the mother, the bikers, pointing their swords, snatched a chain from Isha’s neck and fled.
When the police took out the footage of the CCTV cameras installed nearby, two robbers were seen looting the chain. Police station in-charge Maninder Singh said that the police were busy tracking down the robbers.
In a separate incident, two armed bikers attacked and robbed Monu Ram of Metro Colony when he was returning through the Azeemgarh-Kandhwala bypass link road Sunday night. The victim was referred to AIIMS Hospital Bathinda by the local govt. hospital. MLR has been received and a case registered, police today said.
