The sleuths belonging to 99 battalion of BSF have recovered 1.15 kg heroin during a search operation carried out near BOP Pachharian in this sector.
As per information, the BSF troops deployed on duty heard the humming sound of a drone during the night. The ambush party was immediately alerted through a radio set and troops intensified surveillance of the area. Shortly afterwards, the ambush party heard a dropping sound, following which the troops immediately cordoned off the suspected area.
Later during the search operation, the BSF troops recovered two packets of heroin weighing 1.15 kg and computerized weighing scale.
The matter was reported to police following which the police registered a FIR against unidentified persons under sections 21,61,85 of NDPS Act (FIR No. 287).
Earlier on August 20, the BSF troops of 99 battalion had recovered 964 grams of heroin along with a drone from an agricultural field near BOP Shame Ke. On August 19 also, the toops had recovered 1.28 kg of heroin along with DJI Mavic drone near Kasso Ke during a search operation.
