CBI ARRESTS ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER, FOOD & SUPPLY DEPARTMENT, DELHI FOR TAKING BRIBE

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Commissioner, Food & Supply Department, Asian Market, Pushp Vihar, New Delhi in a bribery case.

The CBI registered the instant case on 20.05.2026 against the said accused. It was alleged that the accused Assistant Commissioner demanded illegal gratification @ Rs. 100 per ration card for allotment/ distribution of 475 ration cards. It was further alleged that approximately 120 ration cards were proposed to be allotted to each nearby shop including shop of the complainant and accordingly, the total demanded amount from the complainant comes to about Rs.12000.

The CBI laid a trap on 21.05.2026 and caught the accused Assistant Commissioner red- handed while demanding and accepting Rs. 10,000 from the complainant. The aforesaid accused person has been arrested.

Further investigation is underway.
