]The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday has arrested Proclaimed Offender Rohan Sk. @ Kismot Sk. from Mirja Galib Road, Kolkata in connection with Bogtui Carnage Case. This accused was at large since registration of FIR in this case, and he never joined investigation/trial.
The CBI registered the instant case on 25.03.2022, in compliance of the order of the Hon’ble Calcutta High Court dated 25.03.2022, by taking over Rampurhat PS FIR No. 169/2022 dated 22.03.2022 relating to Bogtui Carnage Case in which 10 persons were charred to death.
After investigation, CBI filed Chargesheet and 03 Supplementary Chargesheets in the case in 2022-24 against 27 accused persons, including accused Rohan Sk. @ Kismot Sk.
As the accused was hiding himself and evading the process of trial, the Competent Court at Rampurhat declared him Proclaimed Offender (PO) vide order dated 05.04.2024.
The accused will be produced before the Competent Court, Purba Bardhaman on 24.06.2026.
