The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the Manager, Punjab National Bank, Bhadrauli Branch, Barhan, Agra, U.P., in a bribery case.
The CBI registered the instant case on 25.06.2026 against the said accused on the basis of a complaint lodged by a complainant, who is working with a private Company. It was alleged that the accused public servant demanded illegal gratification at the rate of Rs. 7,000 per loan file for processing and clearing approximately 19 solar panel loan files. It was further alleged that after negotiations, the accused agreed to accept a total bribe amount of Rs. 52,000 for clearing the said 19 loan files, which had already been duly sanctioned by the bank.
The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused Manager red-handed while demanding and accepting a part payment of the bribe, i.e., Rs. 30,000 from the complainant. Investigation is continuing.
