CBI COURT AWARDS FOUR YEARS IMPRISONMENT TO FORMER SBI BRANCH MANAGER IN BRIBERY CASE

The CBI Court, Lucknow, on Monday has convicted and sentenced the accused Ajay Kumar Gaur, the then Branch Manager, State Bank of India, Shahupuri Branch, District Chandauli, U.P., to Four Years Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 90,000, in a bribery case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the instant case on 26.02.2018 against the accused Ajay Kumar Gaur, Branch Manager, State Bank of India, based on a complaint alleging that the accused Branch Manager, SBI demanded illegal gratification of Rs.50,000 (@ 5% of personal loan) from the complainant for sanctioning and disbursing of his personal loan of Rs.10,00,000.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused Ajay Kumar Gaur red-handed while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.40,000 from the complainant.

After completion of investigation, the CBI filed Chargesheet on 27.04.2018 and the Charges were framed on 09.01.2019 against the accused Ajay Kumar Gaur.
