CENTRAL SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY HOSTS NATIONAL SEMINAR, BOOK RELEASE AND SPECIAL FELICITATION

Central Sanskrit University (CSU), New Delhi, through its Research and Development Cell, organised a National Seminar, book release and the inauguration of a special lecture series, focusing on the philosophical richness of the Vedanta tradition and its contemporary relevance.

The Seminar was held at the Veda–Vedanta Study and Research Institute (VVSRI), Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, where the volume Vedāntadarśanasaṅgraha was formally released.

The programme was graced by Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Adhokshaja Math, Udupi, and Mahamahopadhyay Sadhu Bhadreshdas Swamiji of the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute. Prof. Srinivasa Varakhedi, Vice-Chancellor, Central Sanskrit University, presided over the programme.

VC Prof. Varakhedi stated that Akshar-Purushottam Darshan is the seventh Vedic philosophical school (darshan) in India’s Vedic philosophical tradition, and it has been given a place in the mainstream in the book Vedāntadarśanasaṅgraha published by the university.

A special lecture series was also launched at Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi, in the presence of distinguished scholars from across India. Sri Sri Vishvaprasannatirtha Swamiji Maharaj of the Pejawar Adhokshaja Math, Udupi, inaugurated the lecture series by delivering the first lecture.  Central Sanskrit University specially felicitated Sadhu Bhadreshdas Swamiji and conferred upon him the honorary title “Vedanta Vidyā Viśvaguru”, in recognition of his distinguished contributions to Vedanta scholarship, Sanskrit literature and the Indian Knowledge Tradition. Swamiji dedicated this honor at the feet of Mahant Swami Ji Maharaj.

The programme was also attended by Prof. Sukanta Kumar Senapati, Vice-Chancellor, Somnath Sanskrit University, and Prof. Shivshankar Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, Maharshi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University. Prof. Ganesh T. Pandit served as the coordinator of the programme.
