It has been a major achievement for the Economic Offences Wing that the Ld Trial Court of Sh. Prashant Sharma, Ld. Special Judge (MCOCA), Patiala House Court, New Delhi has framed charges against all 21 accused
persons, including the prime accused Sukash Chandrasekhar and his wife Ms. Leena Paulose, in FIR No. 208/2021, PS Special Cell (investigated by EOW), pertaining to a large-scale extortion, cheating and organized crime syndicateallegedly operated from within the prison.The Ld. Trial Court, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi, vide its order dated 30.05.2026, has framed charges under Sections 170/ 186/ 384/ 386/ 388/ 406/ 409/420/ 468/471/ 120-B IPC, Section 66 of the Information Technology Act,
and Sections 3 & 4 of the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA).The framing of charges under MCOCA in this highly significant and complex case marks a major milestone and reflects the strength of the evidence collected during the investigation. The successful culmination of this stage is the result of the meticulous, professional and sustained efforts of the officers of the Economic Offences Wing over the last four years.
The investigation involved extensive scrutiny of voluminous records, detailed analysis of financial transactions, examination of numerous witnesses, collection of technical and documentary evidence, and establishment of the organized criminal activities of the accused persons through legally admissible evidence.
Special appreciation is due to all officers and officials associated with the investigation who worked tirelessly in establishing the chain of evidence, identifying the specific roles of the accused persons, and ensuring a ECONOMIC OFFENCE WING comprehensive investigation into every aspect of the criminal conspiracy. The preparation and filing of an exhaustive charge sheet in such a complex matter required exceptional dedication, professional competence and perseverance.The investigation unearthed substantial evidence including witness statements, confessional statements recorded under MCOCA, electronic evidence, voice recordings, forensic reports, call detail records, recovery of mobile phones used for commission of offences, hawala transaction trails, and recovery of luxury vehicles and other assets allegedly acquired from the proceeds of crime.
A dedicated pairvi team comprising IO/ACP Virender Kadyan and Inspector Pradeep Rai, under the overall supervision of senior officers of EOW effectively pursued the matter before the Ld. Trial Court as well as the Hon’ble Delhi High Court. The State has been represented by Sh. Akhand Pratap Singh, Ld. Special Public Prosecutor. The team regularly attended court proceedings and assisted in matters relating to bail applications and arguments on charge concerning all accused persons.
The Economic Offences Wing reiterates its unwavering commitment to combating organized financial crime, extortion rackets and criminal conspiracies.
