CM SAINI TRAVELS FROM CHANDIGARH TO DELHI BY SHATABDI EXPRESS, PROMOTES PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND SUSTAINABLE LIVING

Face2News/Chandigarh

In a significant gesture reflecting Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of energy conservation and environmental sustainability, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday travelled from Chandigarh to Delhi by the Shatabdi Express.

The Chief Minister’s decision was aimed at encouraging energy efficiency, reducing fuel consumption and promoting the use of public transport as part of responsible and people-centric governance.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has consistently advocated the judicious use of resources. Earlier too, he had taken the initiative to rationalise the number of vehicles in his official convoy to minimise unnecessary fuel expenditure. By choosing train travel, he has underlined the importance of public representatives leading by example in bringing about positive behavioural change in society.

Notably, recently the Chief Minister had cycled at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh to spread awareness about healthy living, environmental protection and fuel conservation. He had also interacted with morning walkers and urged citizens to strengthen the resolve of ‘Swasth Haryana, Swasth Bharat’.

The Chief Minister said Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has continuously inspired citizens to adopt energy-saving practices, reduce dependence on petrol and diesel, make greater use of public transport and contribute towards environmental protection. In line with this vision, the Haryana Government is also introducing reforms in administrative functioning to ensure efficient utilisation of resources.

The state government has implemented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote virtual meetings and optimise the use of official resources, thereby ensuring fuel and energy savings at the institutional level as well.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the vision of a Viksit Bharat can only be realised through collective responsibility and public participation. He appealed to the people of the state to adopt small yet meaningful lifestyle changes and actively contribute to the larger mission of energy conservation and environmental protection.
