Under the leadership of Savita Arora (Founder of *Shades of India* magazine), Isha Saxena (Co-founder), Rakhi Tanwar (Organizer), and Sonia Lamba (President of the Raj Foundation), the Savitri Bai Phule Award 2026 ceremony was organized at the India Islamic Centre in Delhi.

Individuals from across the country who have achieved distinction in various fields were selected for this honor; from the Damoh district, Ramesh Bansal was the sole recipient chosen for this prestigious award. Ramesh Bansal is a differently-abled model and singer who has achieved numerous milestones through his modeling work across the nation; additionally, he is an accomplished vocalist who has performed at various venues.

Ramesh Bansal has been conferred with several awards for his contributions to both modeling and singing. Despite hailing from a small village, Ramesh has earned recognition on grand stages; he has faced struggles since birth, yet instead of allowing his disability to become a weakness, he transformed it into his greatest strength.

Today, he brings glory not only to Damoh but to the entire state of Madhya Pradesh. Ramesh Bansal’s story is a testament to the power of indomitable spirit. While ordinary individuals often lose heart over trivial matters, Ramesh continues to pursue a career in modeling despite having a 75% disability affecting one of his legs. Ramesh Bansal serves as an inspiration for the differently-abled community, and indeed, for everyone else; his life sends a powerful message to all—”If I can do it, so can you.”
