In a major breakthrough, the sleuths belonging to Punjab Police and 99 batallian of BSF have recovered 20.298 kg heroin during a joint search operation which had been airdropped with the help of drone inside the Indian territory.
While divulging details, SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said that following the tip off, a joint search operation had been carried out by the police along with BSF during which 20 packets of heroin weighing 20.298 kg had been recovered in jute sack from the agriculture fields at Padhri village near BOP Pachharian.
The SSP said that along with the heroin, 12 blocking rods, two motorcycles, one plier and two iron wires were also recovered.
The police also recovered three pairs of silver anklets packed in a jeweller’s pouch. The wording printed on the pouch indicats that the anklets had been made by “Ali Waqar Jewellers”, located in the Main Bazaar of Kasur, Pakistan.
The SSP said that the police is investigating the case. He said that the accused have been identified by the police and a trap has been laid to nab them .
