A case of alleged fraud in a house deal in Sector-15 has come to light. The Sector-11 police station has registered a case against Dubai-based Kanwaljit Singh and others on the complaint of Ambala resident woman and started an investigation.
Complainant Muskan Arora told the police that she had purchased a house in Sector-15 from Kanwaljit Singh for Rs 2.15 crore, but later the accused refused to execute the property registry.
Muskan stated that she was searching for a house in Chandigarh for her family when she came in contact with Kanwaljit Singh. The accused allegedly introduced themselves as the owners of House No. 1060, Sector-15B. A deal for the property was finalized between both parties for approximately Rs 2.15 crore.
According to the complaint, a sale deed was prepared on March 20, 2025, and on March 26, 2025, an amount of Rs 1.82 crore was paid through demand drafts. In addition, nearly Rs 32 lakh was deposited as TDS.
The complaint further stated that the accused had also handed over possession of the house and related documents. However, Muskan alleged that despite receiving the full payment, the accused later backed out from getting the property registered.
