ED NABS ONE MORE BUILDER IN MOHALI

The Enforcement Directorate ( ED) reportedly arrested one more builder in Mohali yesterday night. The ED had summoned a five-member staff of GMADA yesterday and also summoned Ajay Sehgal, an office bearer of the Indian Cooperative Housing Building Society (promoter of Suntec City).

Meanwhile, the ED had sent the GMADA team back last night but arrested the builder and investigating.  

It may be recalled that the ED had raided dozens of places including the premises of three big builders in Mohali on May 8. The ED has started an investigation into alleged irregularities in the Change of Land Use (CLU) issued to important projects of Mohali, Suntec City and Altus Space Builders Private Limited, in the case of money laundering.

The finger is also being pointed at mainly on the approvals given to real estate projects. The path is not easy for the office bearers of Indian Cooperative Housing Building Society (promoter of Suntec City) Ajay Sehgal and Suresh Kumar Bajaj, Altus Space Builders Private Limited, Dhir Construction whose promoter is Gaurav Dhir, along with the alleged middleman Nitin Gohil.

The ED is examining all the documents related to licenses and approvals. Police cases have already been registered in Mohali district on these projects.
