FARMER FOUND DEAD IN A HOUSE IN SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES, TWO HELD

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

A 40-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances in village Panjawa, located near Punjab-Rajasthan border. The deceased was the father of two children. Khuian Sarwar police brought the body to Civil Hospital Abohar where a post-mortem was conducted.

According to information received, Sukhjinder Singh Khaira, who was engaged in farming, had told his family that he was going to the house of a villager for some work, but he did not return. Later, the family was informed that Sukhjinder Singh was found dead in that person’s house. Upon receiving the information, family members reached the spot and informed the police administration.

Kisan Union Gunwant Singh Panjawa expressed strong anger over the suspicious death, saying that due to drug traffickers in the village, a family has lost their earning-head. He said that the police administration should take strict action against suspected drug smugglers. The Punjab government has been making tall claims about curbing drugs, but in reality, the drug smugglers do not fear the police.

Superintendent of Police Aaswant Singh said that after preliminary investigation two persons, Nishan Singh and Prem Kumar have been apprehended. Further proceedings based on the post-mortem and other evidence shall ascertain the exact cause of death and suitable action would be accordingly taken.
