FEROZEPUR DESERVED RECOGNITION, NOT JUST HOSTING OF STATE-LEVEL EVENT: ASHOK BEHAL

Senior BJP leader Ashok Behal expressed disappointment over the alleged lack of recognition for local achievers during the state-level Independence Day celebrations held in Ferozepur.

Behal said the district administration and political leadership had made extensive preparations for the state-level event and the visit of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. However, when it came to honouring people for their contributions, not a single person from Ferozepur was recognised, apart from students who performed well in the cultural programmes and parade.

He said several people from Ferozepur had made valuable contributions over the years in the fields of education, sports, culture, social service and other areas and deserved recognition on a state-level platform.

“Hosting the state-level Independence Day function in Ferozepur was a matter of pride for the district, but the neglect of local achievers has added disappointment to that pride,” Behal said.

He added that an honour was not merely a certificate or medal but an official recognition of years of hard work, service and dedication.

Behal said the government should ensure that local talent, social workers, teachers, sportspersons and other individuals who had contributed to the development of Ferozepur were appropriately recognised during such state-level events in the future.

“Ferozepur deserves recognition and respect, not just the honour of hosting the event,” he said.
