GMCH-32 CONCLUDES MAIDEN EDITION OF ‘MEDMORPHOSIS’ MEDICAL CONFERENCE

Face2News/Chandigarh

The Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh, concluded the maiden edition of MedMorphosis, a two-day medical conference exclusively for undergraduate MBBS students, on October 11, 2026. Organised by the institute’s Research Cell on October 10 and 11, the conference brought together over 200 delegates from across North India.

The conference aimed to strengthen students’ clinical skills, research aptitude, and practical understanding of medical science through a combination of academic sessions and hands-on training. Workshops on basic suturing techniques and airway management gave participants hands-on exposure to essential clinical procedures.

The programme also featured a medical quiz and case presentation competitions, offering students an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, present research work and exchange ideas with peers. Faculty members mentored the participants and guided them in developing clinical judgement and practical competencies.

Envisioned by Director Principal Dr. Ravneet Kaur, MedMorphosis is planned to become an annual feature of the institute’s academic calendar. The initiative sought to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and bedside clinical practice while encouraging scientific curiosity and professional excellence among future doctors.

The delegates were welcomed by Medical Superintendent Dr. Vishal Guglani, Professor-In-Charge Academics Dr. Uma Handa and Research Cell Convener Dr. Suksham Jain. The inaugural edition was coordinated by final-year MBBS students Atishay Jain and Arnav Chugh.

Through its academic and practical components, MedMorphosis provided a platform for undergraduate medical students to enhance their clinical skills, share research experiences and learn from faculty experts.
