HARYANA CHIEF SECRETARY DIRECTS FOOLPROOF ARRANGEMENTS FOR HCS AND NEET EXAMS

93,696 CANDIDATES TO APPEAR AT 337 CENTRES, AADHAAR-BASED BIOMETRIC VERIFICATION FOR HCS PRELIMS ON APRIL 26

Haryana Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi today reviewed the administrative and logistical arrangements for the Haryana Civil Services (Executive Branch) and Allied Services Preliminary Examination-2025, scheduled to be held on April 26, 2026 (Sunday).

The examination will be conducted in two sessions — the Morning Session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon (General Studies) and the Evening Session from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (CSAT). A total of 93,696 candidates are registered to appear in the examination across 337 centres spread over 8 districts of the state.The examination centres have been set up in the districts of Ambala (31 centres), Faridabad (80 centres), Gurugram (56 centres), Karnal (48 centres), Kurukshetra (37 centres), Panipat (19 centres), Yamuna Nagar (23 centres), and Panchkula (43 centres).

During the review meeting, the Chief Secretary directed Deputy Commissioners of all eight districts to ensure foolproof arrangements including uninterrupted power supply, deployment of Duty Magistrates, and enforcement of Section 144 around strong rooms and examination centres. Each district headquarters has also been directed to keep an ambulance on standby for any medical emergency.

Nodal Officers from IAS and HCS cadres have been appointed in each district to oversee strong room management, question paper distribution, and post-exam material dispatch to the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC), Panchkula.

Modern technology is being deployed to ensure a fair and transparent examination. Strict instructions have been issued to Commissioners of Police and Superintendents of Police for adequate police deployment at strong rooms from April 24 onwards, checking of hotels, coaching centres and photocopy shops, and verification of all private agency staff deployed on examination duty. All necessary arrangements have been made at the examination centres, including thorough frisking of candidates, adequate deployment of CCTV cameras for continuous surveillance, and Aadhaar-based biometric authentication, to ensure a secure, fair, and transparent conduct of the examination.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary also reviewed the arrangements for the NEET examination, which shall be conducted on May 3 (Sunday), and directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure foolproof arrangements for this prestigious national examination.The Chief Secretary emphasized that all arrangements must be completed well in advance to ensure smooth, fair, and transparent conduct of both these examinations.

Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Sh. Apoorva Kumar Singh, Secretary, Haryana Public Service Commission. Sh. M.K. Ahuja, Deputy Secretary Sh. Satish Kumar, and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
