JAIVEER JAKHAR SETS NEW RECORD IN WHEAT PRODUCTION

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

Jaiveer Jakhar, the grandson of former Minister of Cooperation and Irrigation Sajjan Kumar Jakhar, has set a new record in wheat production.

Jaiveer’s great-grandfather, Ch. Balram Jakhar, despite having received higher education from the prestigious FC College, Lahore, had chosen farming as his primary profession. Following in his footsteps, Jaiveer Jakhar, too, dedicated his full time to agricultural production after completing his higher education. Recently, while evaluating the quality of the PBW 872 wheat variety, the Punjab Agricultural University honored Jaiveer Jakhar with first Prize.

Jaiveer Jakhar—who has been receiving accolades for the quality of various crops over the past five years—has this year set a record by achieving a wheat yield of 29 quintals per acre with the PBW 826 variety. He states that the guidance provided by agricultural scientists played a pivotal role in this success. In particular, he attributes this achievement to the Dr. J.C. Bakshi Regional Research Centre, Abohar. Other progressive farmers observe that, undoubtedly, Jaiveer Jakhar has reached the pinnacle of excellence in the production of the PBW 826 wheat variety
