Vikram Ditya Sharma/Ferozepur

MLA (Urban) Ranbir Singh Bhullar today inspected the ongoing repair and upgradation works on Mall Road and Circular Road in city area and directed officials to ensure timely completion of the projects while maintaining high construction standards.

During the inspection, Bhullar said the strengthening and improvement of the city’s major roads would ease traffic movement and provide much-needed relief to residents facing daily commuting difficulties. He said the projects would not only improve connectivity but also contribute significantly to the city’s infrastructure and overall appearance.

Providing details, the MLA said the Mall Road project is being undertaken at a cost of Rs 5.83 crore. The work covers the stretch from Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk to Sher Shah Wali Chowk, including Civil Hospital Road, with a total road length of approximately 3.70 kilometres being upgraded.

He further said that the Circular Road project is being executed at a cost of Rs 6.80 crore and covers the entire 3.5-kilometre-long Circular Road. As part of the project, streetlight poles will also be installed on the central divider to improve road safety and visibility.

Bhullar instructed the concerned officials to ensure proper traffic management during the execution of the works so that inconvenience to the public is minimized. He stressed that quality and timely completion of the projects should remain the top priority.
