NAMAMI BHARATAM : SHARDA SARVHITKARI FAMILY JOINS NATIONWIDE RENDITION OF VANDE MATARAM

*Under the aegis of Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan, New Delhi,* Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 40-D, Chandigarh, became part of the nationwide ‘ *Namami Bharatam* ’ initiative commemorating 150 years of *Vande Mataram* . Under the *inspiring* leadership of *Principal* *Sh. P. S. Khimta* , the entire school community came together in a solemn and memorable celebration of India’s National Heritage.

At 11 a.m., following the traditional *Shankhnad*, a total of 1177 including 1019 students, 77 staff members, 68 parents, 13 distinguished guests and members of the school committee joined in rendering the complete National Song, *Vande Mataram* in unison. The rendition was completed within the prescribed duration of three minutes and seventeen seconds, reflecting the discipline and coordination of the participating community.

The occasion was graced by Chief Guest *Dr. Sushil Kumar Tomar, Professor, Department of Mathematics; Punjab University, Special Guest *Smt. Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR, Chandigarh* ; and Guest of Honour *Sh.* *Naresh Ji* . The other dignitaries *Sh.Dhruv Kant Shukla, Sh. Nikunj Dhawan Sh.Sarabjeet Singh Thakur, Sh. Surinder Kumar, Sh.Rajinder Jain, Sh. S.S Lehri, Sh. Vishal Sharma, *Sh. Mohinder* Tuli *, Sh. Rajesh Sharma, Ms. Neena Thakur** joined the school community in the rendition, lending distinction and significance to the occasion.

The programme assumed wider national significance as more than one crore participants at over 25,000 locations across the country came together for the simultaneous rendition. The nationwide initiative has been submitted for official certification to the *Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records* as a record-setting mass rendition by students and the general public.

At the school, the participation of 1019 students, 77 staff members, 68 parents 13 distinguished members transformed the event into an intergenerational expression of reverence for the motherland and an opportunity to connect young learners with the cultural and historical legacy associated with *Vande Mataram* .

The programme concluded with a renewed sense of pride in India’s shared heritage and the responsibility of carrying its values forward. The *Sharda Sarvhitkari family* thus became part of a nationwide observance marking a significant milestone in the 150-year journey of Vande Mataram.
