POLICE FILE CHARGESHEET IN ₹7 CRORE EXTORTION CASE

ODIN HEALTHCARE DIRECTOR RAMAN AGGARWAL GETS ANTICIPATORY BAIL; CHANDIGARH CLUB HONORARY SECRETARY NITIN GOYAL NAMED AS PROSECUTION WITNESS

Face2News/Chandigarh

Police have filed a chargesheet in court in the high-profile ₹7 crore extortion case registered in 2025, following a complaint by Chandigarh-based advocate Gaurav Dhir. The case has witnessed significant legal developments concerning the accused and other individuals associated with the investigation.

According to the court proceedings, Raman Aggarwal, director of Odin Healthcare Private Limited, who is accused of demanding extortion money and issuing threats, has been granted anticipatory bail. Meanwhile, Nitin Goyal, honorary secretary of the Chandigarh Club, who was examined during the initial investigation, has been included in the chargesheet as a prosecution witness.

The case relates to an FIR registered last year. According to the allegations made by complainant Gaurav Dhir, he was sitting at an office associated with his father’s construction business in New Chandigarh on August 31, 2025, when he allegedly received a threatening phone call.

The complaint alleged that Raman Aggarwal demanded ₹6 crore to ₹7 crore from him, purportedly to be handed over to Vikas Bector, an executive member of the Chandigarh Club. The complainant further alleged that he was threatened with serious consequences if he failed to pay the amount.

In connection with the case, Mullanpur police arrested Vikas Bector in October 2025. He was subsequently granted bail.

With the chargesheet now filed before the court, the way has been cleared for further judicial proceedings. The inclusion of Chandigarh Club honorary secretary Nitin Goyal as a prosecution witness is considered significant in establishing the circumstances surrounding the alleged extortion demand and the events related to the case.

The court is expected to take up further proceedings on the chargesheet at the next hearing.
